To many, the story of Cassie and Diddy is largely defined by a professional relationship that grew into a personal union that lasted for over decade.

However, in a bombshell lawsuit, the ‘Me & U’ singer is alleging that there was a much darker side to her experience with the Bad Boy mogul.

For, she is claiming Diddy raped her and subjected her to years of physical abuse.

The New York Times confirms that Cassie officially filed suit in the Federal District Court in Manhattan.

Per the submitted paperwork, the performer says she met Diddy when she was just 19 in 2005 and from there a pattern of control and abuse that included plying her with drugs, beating her and forcing her to have sex with a succession of male prostitutes (which he filmed). It’s claimed in the suit that towards the end of their union, Diddy allegedly forced his way into her home and raped her.

In a statement addressing the suit, Cassie said:

“After years in silence and darkness. I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.”

Diddy’s legal rep denied the allegations in their totality and suggested it formed part of a shakedown attempt. A statement read:
