Thanks to her latest single, ‘Call My Name,’ GRAMMY-nominated songstress Jordin Sparks sees her name printed on a Billboard R&B chart for the first time in nearly 10 years.
Released October 13, the Dem Jointz-produced slow jam came as the second single Sparks released over the last year following the party-starting ‘Stop This Feeling.’
Although it’s unclear as of time of this report if ‘Feeling’ and ‘Name’ will be featured on the ‘American Idol‘ alum’s next traditional studio album (the successor to 2015’s ‘Right Here Right Now’), what is clear is the latter tune is enjoying a noteworthy start at Billboard.
Debuting at #29 on the refreshed Adult R&B Airplay chart, the entry marks the first time Sparks has been printed on this tally since hitting #10 with the Whitney Houston-led ‘Sparkle‘ soundtrack single ‘Celebrate‘ in 2012. Among all major Billboard R&B song charts, the 33-year-old last peaked inside the top 40 of the Hot R&B Songs listing at #25 with the 2 Chainz-assisted ‘Double Tap’ in May 2015.
