Bebe Rexha may have recently wrapped the Asian leg of the ‘Best F*n Night of My Life Tour’ in support of her April-released self-titled album, but – if her Twitter mentions are to judge by – Monday (November 13) was far from the best night of her life thanks to perceived disses she made toward Cardi B.
Rexha was joined by a stylist for a recent Instagram live session on which she weighed in on the topic of female Rap.
Going into a praise session over Nicki Minaj, Bebe waxed honest about her enduring admiration of her ‘Hey Mama’ and ‘No Broken Hearts’ co-star . When not asserting Minaj is “one of the best female rappers of all time,” Rexha showered the iconic rapstress with love for innovating the game (“always coming up with new sh*t”) and writing her own lyrics.
On the subject of writing, however, Bebe’s stylist raised eyebrows when he said Cardi – Nicki’s longtime nemesis – “doesn’t write 95%” of her own music.
“I like Cardi because I f—k with her personality, I like how real she is, but like with Nicki, I just feel like the talent the writing talent, the musicality, the artistry…untouchable,” Rexha said before addressing the stylist’s diss. “Let’s not get into that because we don’t want [the #BardiGang] coming after us.”
Her attempt to avoid controversy was definitely an exercise in futility as Cardi fans took to social media in droves to slam the GRAMMY-nominated songstress for even suggesting Nicki was better.
