Chrisean Rock may see her name atop headlines more for her personal drama than professional endeavors, but that changed (a little) this week when the 23-year-old found her hit song ‘Mr. Take Ya B*tch’ listed at #1 on multiple Billboard charts.
Details inside.
As seen above, Rock took to Twitter on Thursday (November 2) to react to reports her Lil Mabu-assisted hit had zoomed to the top of the Bubbling Under Charts.
“Can’t make this up,” she said on the tweet to her 1.8 million followers. “All glory to Jesus!”
For context, Bubbling Under is a chart published weekly by Billboard that lists the top 25 songs in America that have not yet cracked the Hot 100. Much like the Hot 100, however, the tally’s placements are derived from radio airplay, sales, and streams.
In relation to the latter component, ‘B*tch’ collected a whopping 7.1 million streams across major platforms over the prior sales tracking week.
‘B*tch’ most famously houses diss lyrics to Rock’s on-and-off-again boyfriend Blueface, but it’s also garnered traction on social media for an associated viral dance.
The latter measure helped hoist it to the top of the Tik Tok Billboard 50 (a weekly ranking of the most popular songs on the video-based platform).
Elsewhere, the controversial tune landed at #33 on the refreshed Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart – marking Chrisean’s inaugural top 40 hit on that hitlist.
